My Fiction
The Secrets of Fairies
Book one of the Black Amber trilogy.
Poppy Green is feeling stuck.
She’s pulling pints at the local pub while her useless History degree hangs on her childhood bedroom wall. But as much as she’s desperate for her life to begin, being stolen by Fairies to live in the magical village of Brockdene forever was not the change she was hoping for.
Now Poppy has to deal with beetles delivering the mail, a grumpy boss who’s centuries old, and the pervasive question of why she’s actually in Brockdene at all. Luckily a Welsh sweet-shop clerk seems deeply interested in solving the mystery, and Poppy eagerly joins the fun of investigating the secrets and histories of Brockdene.
But Felix Evans has his own secrets to hide and, when a young but powerful Fairy offers Poppy a forbidden chance to leave Brockdene forever, she must decide what secrets are worth uncovering, and who she can trust to help her find the answers.
“Eventually you start to live your life… you’re just stuck living in an Enid Blyton book while you’re doing it.”
